On 15 September, Homa officially commenced production at our Thailand Refrigerator Plant in Chonburi, marking another major milestone in our global manufacturing journey.
Following the launch of our Thailand chest freezer plant last year, the ceremony brought together our top management, distinguished guests from local authorities, the landowner, construction partner, as well as our valued customers from around the world, to witness this important moment.
With a planned total investment of RMB 680 million and a total built-up area of nearly 200,000 square metres, Homa Thailand Production Hub includes a refrigerator factory, a chest freezer factory, a components manufacturing centre, as well as showroom and office facilities.
Representing the first phase of the refrigerator project, the newly launched refrigerator plant focuses primarily on high-end refrigerator production with an expected annual capacity of 1.5 million units. For Homa, this is not only an expansion in scale. It is an important step towards a more flexible and resilient manufacturing network across China and Thailand to better meet the global needs.
Building on more than 20 years of manufacturing experience in Zhongshan, Homa is extending the same manufacturing DNA to our overseas operations. To support a smooth start-up in Thailand, 270 experienced technical experts from our China headquarters have worked alongside local colleagues, providing guidance, training and hands-on support that will last far beyond the factory floor.
As the hub grows, it is also creating new opportunities for the local community. The project is expected to create more than 3,300 jobs for Thai people, with more than 800 team members already on board, while supporting local suppliers and related industries. For us, this is not just an investment in manufacturing. It is an investment in people, local capability and a culture of excellence built together.
As the world’s largest refrigerator exporter, Homa has stood firmly as a pure cooling ODM specialist for over two decades. Today, with four major production hubs across China and Thailand, including 9 refrigerator plants, 2 freezer plants and supporting parts factories, Homa’s global annual production capacity will reach 21 million units, serving partners in more than 150 countries and regions.
As our CEO Michael Yao said at the ceremony: “From ‘Made in China’ to ‘Made with Homa’, we stay true to our belief: to be your partner of choice.” From Zhongshan to Chonburi, Homa will carry this belief forward through the strengths that define us: manufacturing efficiency, consistent quality, smart manufacturing capability and a long-term commitment to our partners.
