This June marks China’s 24th National Safety Production Month, and at Homa, as the NO.1 refrigerator exporter, safety is more than compliance — it’s culture. Since 2002, we have made June a time to reflect, reset and strengthen our commitment to every colleague’s wellbeing.

Under the stewardship of our General Management Department, the month-long programme spans all 12 of our CBU and Parts factories. Through film screenings, emergency drills, risk investigations and hands-on training, we have created a multi-level safety initiative under this year’s national theme: “Everyone speaks for safety, everyone knows how to respond – Identify risks around you.”

In recent years, Homa has established a robust safety framework that delivers tangible benefits.

Achieving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications has not only ensured regulatory compliance but also reduced workplace incidents and environmental impact.

Meanwhile, inconsistent guarding and variable safety measures once left our operators exposed and machines prone to failure. To tackle this, we have introduced an Equipment Safety Protection Standard for 23 specialised machine categories—defining unified guards, interlocks and emergency stops. This upgrade has enhanced operator safety, boosted equipment reliability and cut unplanned downtime.

Over the past three years, we have channelled roughly RMB 18 million into safety and environmental enhancements—funding that has boosted operational efficiency, elevated our compliance standing and deepened customer trust.

While robust standards lay the groundwork, we are enhancing approaches with predictive, data driven safety measures.

Our industry leading solution to the conveyor line foot entrapment hazard has already set a new benchmark for plant safety.

Now, we are embedding intelligence at every turn. An AI powered platform—informed by assistive technology—will offer:

• Real time behaviour monitoring to pre empt risky actions

• Advanced fire and hazard detection for instant alerts

• Automated oversight of critical equipment

• Enhanced surveillance of high risk zones and assets
