June 24, construction on Homa's sixth factory broke ground in Zhongshan, Canton. The new factory is expected to achieve an overall capacity growth to 10 million pieces of refrigerators annually for the company.
The new factory is expected to achieve an annual capacity growth of 3 million pieces. This will meet the needs of foreign and domestic market in three to five years. “So long as the production capacity is upgraded, the refrigerator sales quantity is expected to increase by 1 million pieces”, said Michael Yao, vice president of Homa.
112.3 million dollars have been invested to build the factory and upgrade the assembly lines. It will specialize in producing high-end refrigerator (computer controlled, no-frost, and multi-door) as well as freezers.
